Construction Photos

The plates are joined, and the ribs are bent and glued to blocks temporarily attached to an internal form. The upper half of the form is removed, and the lining is installed. The outline is marked on the top, and it's cut to shape.

The top is shaped, and the purfling is installed. The neck is first roughly shaped, then is refined with a router.

The top is graduated and tap tuned, and the bass bar is fitted and attached. The top is glued to the ribs. The neck mortise is cut. The back is shaped and graduated and the purfling is installed.

The instrument is assembled, sanded to perfection, and finished with oil varnish.
