This gorgeous 0000 guitar features Honduras rosewood back and sides, a red spruce top, mahogany neck,. and Waverly tuners. It was designed by and built for George Gruhn of Gruhn's Guitars in Nashville, TN, and is a big guitar in both physical size and in voice. It's both powerful and balanced, and simply an exellent design.

Construction Photos

The plates are joined and cut to shape. The sides are bent and the lining and side reinforcing strips are glued in place. The bracing is installed and tap tuned for maximum performance.

The guitar is assembled. The end graft and bindings are routed and glued in, and the neck dovetail is cut.

The neck is reinforced with both adjustable truss rod and carbon fiber. The peghead overlay is glued on and inlaid with my logo. The neck is brought to final shape and the instrument is finished with nitrocellulose lacquer.
