Designing Other Skipper Instruments

My ability and willingness to make one-off instruments is rare in the lutherie world. If you're thinking of an instrument that's not shown on these pages, don't despair.

The construction of any custom instrument begins with a full-sized plan. From this plan forms can be built and bracing can be laid out on tops and backs. In most cases, less time is consumed in this endeavor than you might imagine, and form materials are normally quite inexpensive. So, if there's a new instrument on your mind, contact me, and I'll put it on my workbench at an affordable price.

Many questions about a truly custom Skipper instrument can be answered by watching the construction step by step. A wealth of this information is available in my Archives section, where all the instruments I've built in the last several years are presented in detail.
